Brown Nubuck
Dying leather/suede upper on boots?
I bought a new pair of Columbia Bugalite winter boots for dirt cheap, but the uppers are orange and brown. They are “Waterproof suede and nubuck leather upper”. My job requires black boots. How can I make these mostly black?
Ok, so is there a way to remove the waterproofing? I’ve heard acetone works? How about some Black Shoe polish and a heat gun? As long as I can cover up the orange strip of suede along the top of the rubber, they should be fine for work.
If they have been waterproofed. This means they have a finish on them. So, I doubt you will be able to dye them as the the dye won’t go ‘through’.
