Shoes designed for motor sports are different. The padding so essential in other sports would just interfere with a driver’s control of the vehicle. Drivers need thin soles for good contact with pedals. Driving shoes can look sleek and attractive.
Anyone who loves smart looking footwear will love shoes inspired by motor sports. You don’t have to be a race car driver to wear shoes designed for drivers. You might guess that from the fact that great looking drifter shoes come in kids’ sizes.
It is interesting to notice that although these new motor sport inspired shoes resemble historic dance shoes worn by men they do not look anything like women’s dance shoes. The shoes women traditionally have worn for dancing are anything but comfortable. Womens Dress Shoes are made to be taken off at the first opportunity.
Women’s ballroom dance shoes made dancing more challenging for women. People observed that while Fred Astaire was a great dancer his female partners did what he did backwards and in high heels.
