Cowboy/Western Crafts for 8 and 9 year olds?

I’m working as a camp counsellor this year and I need some help for a cowboy/western craft for next week. Please help!

Besides, you could ask each kid to bring a pair of boots [that may no longer be in use] & let them decorate the boots in a western Cowboy Style. You can use construction [or any sturdy paper] to make all the extras – like high shaft, a tiny cone in front for the pointed toe, & so on. Glue buttons, or pierce holes, & lace, etc. etc.

They can also make paper or stick or sock puppets, designing their own characters – human as well as animal. Make props alongside. You can divide them into groups – each group making a set of things/puppets. Then have a little cowboy skit at the end.
