Am i possibly denying the effects mono has on me?

I am about 4 weeks into my mono since my first symptoms. Initially my symptoms were so severe i was hospitalized and needed steroid treatment to reduce tonsil swelling. But that has subsided. After overcoming that i feel great and the fatigue really has no effect on me.

I have been skateboarding like i usually do and my muscles ache more than usual. Which i assume mono is the culprit of this. I dont know if this is going to do any damage…

I dont really feel all that ill now. I dont know if its because im getting better, or im just ignoring it. I typically heal fast and rarely get sick, so its always confusing when trying to tell these things for me. Im 23 years old, regularly exercise, and get plenty of sleep.. although i do eat a lot of junk food.

You really need to be careful and I would talk to your doctor to see if you can be skateboarding. My brother had mono for a while and had to be careful not to do strenuous activity because his spleen was enlarged and it could tear if he did too much. That happens a lot with mono. And yes the muscle aches, thats a typical symptom. Fatigue will also normally knock you on your butt but if you are feeling fine, keep at it. You should try to eat really healthy and rest, take vitamins and take the best care of yourself. Its caused by the Epstein Barr virus which eventually will subside but never leaves your body. You will always carry it but probably won’t get sick unless you put yourself under immense stress or don’t take care of yourself.
