What are some cute outfit tips for going back to school?
Okay so going into the next grade of course i want to look good, so does anyone have good fashion tips for me?
also, i have long blonde, green eyes, tan skin, and an athletic body. so please help(:
my first five rules of school clothing:
1. never look like you tried too hard. (just so you know, this is actually something you have to try hard to do! just don’t show it!)
2. everything you wear should look good on you. it should fit, and it should flatter your shape and coloring. in your case, because of your hair, i would say to stick to basic colors. black, grey and white (it will show off your tan especially well!) are your best friends. yellow will look funny with your hair. bright blue might fight your eyes. reds are your favorite brights color. you can also play around with magenta, pink, and light greens.
3. don’t show too much skin! seriously. especially not at school. showing curves is fine, but don’t ever show off tons of cleavage! this also goes along with not breaking your school’s dress code – you really don’t want to be sent home. or worse – made to wear something from the lost and found!
4. the real trick is to wear something close to what everyone else is wearing – but not exactly the same thing. being one step up from them is trick of the fashion-part of popularity – the easy-but-cheesy way of course is to buy “cool” brands. the ones with the logos are the best because then people can see that you bought it at the cool store. keep and extra outfit in your locker, just in case you show up wearing exactly the same thing as someone else. it could be embarrassing, especially if the other person is definitely not cool. also, it’s good to have a back-up. what if you got your forgot about your period during school? or some other horror story? (i have actually ripped my pants during school – no one saw, but it was still humiliating, because i knew.)
5. choose one part of your body to showcase! choose your arms, or your legs, or your eyes – it doesn’t really matter what – and really play it up and much as possible. for your arms, fancy sleeves that end right after the shoulder and giant bangles and a fancy manicure is an idea. your legs? short shorts and wedges make them seam longer and shapelier. eyes? lots of dramatic contrast – in your case, you might try red-tinged black mascara and liner. the trick is to show off one part of your body, and keep the rest simple. playing up your lips? keep the rest of your face natural. your arms? wear jeans and sandals or other flat shoes. you don’t have to be boring – you just don’t want to fight the part you’re showing off.
(and one last bonus tip – be confident! if you don’t feel confident, at least pretend. stand up strait with your tummy in [this will actually happen automatically]. push your boobs out and your shoulders back. and smile! there is nothing dumber than a girl decked out in hot clothes who is hiding under her skin.)
