Ipod Running
Can you listen to a ipod while running in a cross country meet?
I’m in high school and i love my music i think it helps me while i run.
Not in meets.
Maybe in training runs (on your own) if there’s not going to be a safety issue. Most coaches won’t want you training with one though, as if you’re running competitively, you need to develop the ability to pace yourself, etc., without it. The music can actually be a crutch to keep you on pace. As long as you don’t do every single training run with it, it’s usually not a big deal though, especially when training on your own.
Some people do really freak out though if they run with music then suddenly have to run with silence and their heavy breathing, footsteps, etc. It can be a foreign experience.
